Porcelain Veneers in Frisco, TX

Porcelain veneers are a great way to cover up imperfections in your teeth and have the great smile that you have always wanted in a semi-permanent way.

Veneers are bonded to your teeth, but they do not last forever and will need to be redone over time. Picking, placing, and shaping veneers is going to be a different process for every patient. For years, Frisco Dental Associates has been fitting porcelain veneers for Frisco, TX patients with fabulous results.

What Can Veneers Do For Me?

People often consider these veneers when they have minimal problems with their teeth and want an overall better smile. A porcelain veneer is essentially a tooth cover that is bonded to your tooth. If you are thinking about getting veneers, you likely have an idea of the look that you want when the procedure is over.

Here is the basic outline of how the veneer process will work:

  • You and your dentist discuss the results you are looking to achieve
  • You have the prep work done if any
  • You will be given a temporary set before your permanent veneers are placed and bonded
  • You are given some time to come back with needed changes

Once you think about all of the changes that you want to make, the dentist will inform you of what is possible and what is not. After that, you will talk about and make appointments for the next steps.

Some people will need prep work done so that the veneers will fit over their teeth. This includes filing the teeth and doing any restorative dentistry work that needs to be completed beforehand. After this, you will get your temporary veneers, and then when they are finished being made, your permanent veneers will be placed.

Living With Porcelain Veneers

Some people have what they call dental bonding sensitivity. That means that the nerves in their teeth react to the bonding material in the beginning. This can cause a good amount of pain to start. The pain usually goes away in a short amount of time. Ibuprofen will help to take care of the pain. You will also have some gum pain from your teeth shifting after the veneers are applied.

If you plan to get lip injections, Botox, or facial plastic surgery, let your dentist know before you get the veneers. Some procedures can affect your tooth coloring. For example, lip injections will cast gray over your teeth.

Color is one of the trickiest things about veneers. Most people envision that they want super white teeth and they tell their dentist that they want natural-looking teeth. Natural-looking teeth are not super while. You are going to have to make a decision: do you want natural teeth or extremely white teeth? As mentioned above, you will have the chance to wear temporary veneers. This can help you choose the color before the permanent veneers are placed.

Another point about color is that the veneers will stain. You need to take great care of them to keep them the color that you want and to make sure they stay in place for the decade that they have been known to last. You need to make sure your underlying teeth are in good shape. Your dentist may have other recommendations for keeping the color the way that you like.

Best dental team in Texas!!! I have been to them now for 2 dental emergencies and in both cases they have been phenomenal. on my last visit, I needed 2 teeth pulled. after the 1st tooth, my anxiety was getting the best of me (I have very bad dental anxiety) and before I even said anything, Dr. E offered to reschedule my other tooth for another day. not only do they do amazing work, but they actively listen to their patients and work with them. i will recommend them to everyone i know, and I'm certainly not going anywhere else!
