Invisalign® Treatment in Frisco, TX
What is Invisalign® Treatment?
Invisalign® is a tooth straightening process that uses clear plastic inserts. You wear them over your teeth for a period of time and change them as your teeth move in a specific way. The plates are made from a patented plastic material called SmartTrack®. SmartTrack® makes thin, durable dental inserts solely for Invisalign®. They are nearly invisible and will not cause speech impediments because they are so thin.
Invisalign® plastic does not contain:
Frisco Dental Associates will create a map of your mouth and what your mouth will look like after the treatment. The Invisalign® lab then receives your measurements, and your inserts will be created and mailed to you. Your inserts will be designed to deliver the right directions for movement to your teeth at the appropriate time. Your doctor will tell you when to change mouthpieces and follow your progress carefully.
Most people qualify for this type of treatment, but in some cases they will not. People that are unable to cope with a tooth liner in their mouths for months all day long may want to consider an option that does not allow them to remove the treatment. For this reason, it may not be appropriate for young children or young teens. It will also not be suitable for people with severe misalignments.
What is Invisalign® Treatment Like?
Getting Invisalign® and dealing with it is easier than coping with braces. Here are some of the differences:
- Less upkeep
- No threading floss through each bracket and wire to clean your teeth
- They are easy to keep clean and they are nearly invisible
- You remove them to eat, drink, floss, and brush
- No worrying about losing or swallowing brackets
Overall you will change the liners every week. You will probably be scheduled to see your orthodontist every 4-6 weeks to make sure your progress is coming along as expected. Some patients will need to have attachments or handles installed. These will be placed on a couple of teeth. They are there to provide extra leverage to the liners so that they can do their job correctly without needing braces or headgear.
If you and your dentist feel that you only need treatment for the top or bottom of the mouth, then you may consider Invisalign. Most treatments last between a year to a year and a half. If you carry dental insurance, Invisalign® has similar coverage for braces on your plan. Be sure to call your carrier before starting the treatment. Your dentist may also offer a monthly payment plan or other options for you to pay.
What Can I Expect From My Free Invisalign® Consultation?
During a free Invisalign® consultation in Frisco, TX, you will sit down with your doctor, and they will assess your mouth. They will look at the severity of your tooth misalignment and ask you a series of questions about the results you are looking for and what you will be able to handle as far as the responsibility of caring for the Invisalign® trays. If they think you are a good candidate for Invisalign® treatment, they will create a unique road map for your tooth movement with the system.
Your doctor may have to place attachments and file down your teeth depending on the current state of them. Teeth filing and attachments will be necessary if your teeth need to move a lot. The filing gives your teeth the room they need to move, and the attachments give the system extra leverage to make the movements.
Once the process is complete, you will get your trays and be on your way to a smile you have always wanted! You will also have to check in with your doctor regularly during treatment. The sequence is:
- Pre-system treatment (filing and attachments)
- Doctor check-ins
- Straight teeth!

Best dental team in Texas!!! I have been to them now for 2 dental emergencies and in both cases they have been phenomenal. on my last visit, I needed 2 teeth pulled. after the 1st tooth, my anxiety was getting the best of me (I have very bad dental anxiety) and before I even said anything, Dr. E offered to reschedule my other tooth for another day. not only do they do amazing work, but they actively listen to their patients and work with them. i will recommend them to everyone i know, and I'm certainly not going anywhere else!
